Bogus Slogan Poster #00097 - Inside View
Late in 1973, management for Bogus Slogan received a curious tempting request for a concert from the Madison School of Music in Pennsylvania. The curious part was their claim to have an auditorium with a unique sound projection system. It was another inventor’s attempt to make every seat sound like it was center front.
The school offered to pay for transporting the band and its instruments. Everything else would be provided by the school including a performance fee 1 1/2 times the usual price. Now that was tempting.
When the band arrived for the sound check they were knocked silly by the sound reinforcement system that was installed in the Stokes Surround Sound Theater. The theater was a circular room with a stage in the center. The silly part was every seat had a speaker. 800 speakers. As the band tuned up, the school sound engineers turned on a bank of electronics reminiscent of Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory.
The results were not as harmonious as predicted.
Bogus Slogan has been rockin’ the world for over half a century. Springing from the Surf, Psychedelic, Garage of the Southern California 60s, the band has released over 3 dozen albums and toured America & the World extensively.
